Detailed Description: 3M 5810 Series Industrial loadbreak elbow kit is designed for connecting 5 - 15 kilo-Volts underground cable to transformers and to use on tape shield, wire shield, unishield as well as jacketed concentric neutral types of power cables. It includes elbow body, tin plated copper loadbreak probe with an ablative arc-follower tip, silicone lubricant, probe installation tool, three mastic strips, constant force spring, cold shrink jacketing tube, CC-3 cable cleaning pads, ground braid assembly, stainless steel reinforced pulling-eye and a capacitive test point with installation instructions. Loadbreak elbow is molded with high quality peroxide-cured EPDM insulation with diameter of 0.700 - 0.910 inches. Aluminum crimp barrel is inertia-welded to a copper lug and makes the connector easy to crimp. Copper lug ensures a reliable, tight, cool operating connection with the loadbreak probe.

Kit can be used for connecting shielded power cables to loadbreak bushings. Elbow connector and bushing insert encompass the necessary components of all loadbreak connections. Elbow connector accepts 250 kcmil stranded cables at 5 kilo-Volts, 4/0 AWG - 250 kcmil stranded, 250 kcmil compact/solid cables at 8 kilo-Volts and 1/0 - 2/0 AWG stranded, 2/0 - 3/0 AWG compact/solid cables at 15 kilo-Volts with 100% insulation. It accepts 4/0 AWG - 250 kcmil stranded, 250 kcmil compact/solid cables at 5 kilo-Volts, 3/0 - 4/0 AWG stranded, 4/0 AWG - 250 kcmil compact/solid cables at 8 kilo-Volts and 2 - 1/0 AWG stranded, 1 - 2/0 AWG compact/solid cables at 15 kilo-Volts with 133% insulation. Kit meets ANSI/IEEE standards.
